The Moody August

And starting today, I would be rounding my month’s mood into collage as a form of celebrating a month that has rushed past with feelings and the world that has moved so fast around me. I hope you can too relate to these moods! Read on...

August, August, AUGUST! First of all who would’ve thought that it is five months ever since we got into lockdown! The whole world around us is moving and picking up pace slowly; nothing but something feels the same. I already feel so happy to see the lights around the shops flicker in the rains bringing the liveliness back into the world. *sighs*

Talking about Rains, Mumbai and Rains go hand in hand (yeah yeah, we all know), it has been raining since the start of August which is a bit unusual seeing July was sunny for days and moody towards the start of August. I missed being drenched in rain (even though last year was a horrible time as my auto-rickshaw ride was flooded with water- that’s another story all together!)

August dropped in some great music and let me tell you, with the grey clouds came Taylor Swift’s grey album cover ‘Folklore’, In fact her music video for ‘Cardigan’ from this album was dripping wet! (Must see, by the way!). The whole album can be the lead playlist for this month followed by Lana Del Rey’s Venice Bitch. These songs already

pretty much set up mood for imaginary long drives. I cherished and reminisced about the days when I used to travel in rains! As the reminiscing went on, the book that I decided to read during this time was ‘Passion for the Game’ by Sylvia Day. It is a passionate romance drama set in the Georgian era. The book cover itself gave me the idea that this month was going to be painted in red, blacks and Georgian artefacts while being dripped in water! It set my mood for this month primarily.

I am always up for a good ‘Whodunit’ genre of movies and books. I know Agatha Christie is perfect for weathers like these and that is why I gave a Netflix series try-‘Safe’ starring Michael C Hall and Amanda Abbington among others. It gave me the adrenaline rush that I required badly help me transport to a different place and situation. After exactly five months, a few days back I visited a supermarket and bought groceries (never knew such a regular act would become new and exciting!)

Kick starting your day with some up-beat music, taking warm sips of tea in the evening and devouring a book that certainly made this august so remarkable in it’s own way. I hope you had your gloomy, sparkly, moody and magical August yourself.

Knock, knock

Who's there?

September that's who!

P.s - To be honest, I am still not ready to celebrate festivities devoid of people but that’s how it is, I guess.
