Pop culture has always been overflowing with countless inspirations and the distinctive characteristics of these iconic costumes have been the best reflection of their journey. Today, we would be seeing Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones, Daphne Blake from Scooby Doo franchise, Harley Quinn from DC Universe and Loki Lauffeyson from Marvel Cinematic Universe and see what would they wear if they would be competing at pageants (now who would win that crown?!)
Few weeks back I ran a poll to ask my followers about their thoughts on these eight characters (yes, I would link down my handles below so that you can join in the fun too!) and it acted as a guide to start the research for each character's wardrobe.
So, let’s start seeing these look boards (another favorite part of being a fashion designer is I get to create so many of these!)
Daenerys Targaryen

Diving into Daenerys’ arc in the series shows a complete transition from being a kid to a mad ruler and the shifts in the style from pale, blush silks suggesting innocence to stiffer stark leathers and the now iconic braids that stay very much in place.
Daphne Blake
Costume design by Leesa Evans (the movie version of Scooby Doo)
As Leesa Evans mentioned, ‘70s has been an influence on Daphne’s wardrobe, so when I styled her in purple (staple of Daphne) evening wear, cross waist bands, halter necks and lot’s of volume were screaming Daphne!
Harley Quinn
Costume design by Erin Benach, Kate Hawley and Judianna Makovsky (Birds of Prey, Suicide Squad 1 and 2)
Crazy, yes, that was the keyword for Harley but I added Genius to it. Styles that celebrate her individuality and independence from Joker while saluting her DIY sensibility was the main focus of choosing the following looks. Also some looks pay homage to her actual looks in the movies!
Loki Lauffeyson
Costume design by Mayes C. Rubeo
Loki’s color scheme attracted me the most. Green and gold accents having prominence and the sleek hair kept me not to look further as there were 3 looks that fit right in with Loki’s ego, evil and mischief!
