It took 21 years and countless attempts for India to finally welcome their third Miss Universe, Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu. This series would explore the wardrobe worn by the Miss Universe, styled by Emma Pritchard during her reign. Let’s explore this month's pop culture inspired OOTD of the 70th Miss Universe.
Media week and the City
For her start of the media week, this white faux fur jacket was chosen to battle the sweater weather of New York City. The huge coat paired with thigh high boots, a classic New York combination was paired with smart sleek hair. The look oozed with so much class and power, the hoop earnings provided that playful vibe.
In French, they say ‘Bonjour’
Making blues her own kind with a beret, Pritchard styled Harnaaz in this fur shawl collared coat and with the beret it gave a perfect dreaming Paris in New York vibe. We do Harnaaz, we do too.
Rock that ferry!
I always wanted Miss Universe to have Rocky Star as one of the wardrobe choices, and I was not disappointed. Harnaaz channelized the rockstar vibe on her New York ferry ride. Rexine pants and the bold floral printed shirt had the unmatched elegance to it.
Empire State of Mind
I’ve been dying to use this caption for the Miss Universes’. This Turtleneck bodycon dress makes me want to welcome this silhouette again. Turtleneck has been in the scene for a long time now and is becoming a staple in the MU wardrobe.
Coordinating with the streets
A fuzzy tapestry coordinated look reminded me of the crosswalks of New York. Cher from Clueless would be proud.
Live from 70th Miss Universe
These two looks after her win would be special in their own right. The saree honored her heritage and the suit dress managed to give us a bold yet flirty look.
Two to Tangerine
Harnaaz’s favorite color is the oh-so-fresh Orange and this tangerine number celebrates that. The jacquard jackets syncs perfectly to the Indian Banarasi Jacquards and that worked so well with the knitted dress. The feather cuff details were interesting.
Two Tone Jacket
This black and white color blocking brought back memories of 2015’s neutral color palette. And that bucket bag? Straight out of anyone’s dream.
Meanwhile in India
And that’s the first wardrobe drop and I cannot wait to see the rest of the looks. Don’t forget to tell me which ones are your favorites!
